Adventures in Diving
The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three
adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification.
If you also complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation
Adventure Dive for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open
Water Diver certification.>
Why an Adventure
Diver Program?
After your Adventure dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more
comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you better
understand the underwater environment. This program is designed to
introduce you to the specialty areas of diving.
Prerequisites:
- PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification)
- Minimum age:
- 15 years old
- 10 for PADI Junior Adventure Diver
- 12 for PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
What will I do?
Adventure Diver includes three of the following Adventure Dives. While Advanced Open Water includes five.
Adventure Dives available to divers 10 years old and older
- AWARE-Fish Identification>
- Underwater Naturalist
- Boat Diver
- Underwater Navigator*
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Underwater Photography
Additional Adventure Dives available to divers 12 years old and older:
- Multilevel Diver
- Deep Diver*
- Night Diver
- Search and Recovery Diver
- Drift Diver
- Wreck Diver
* Required dives for Advanced Open Water certification.
How long will it take?
- Recommended Course Hours: Adventure Diver - 9 hours
- Advanced Open Water Diver - 15 hours
- Maximum Open Water Training - Three dives per day>
What will I need?
Required
- Adventures in Diving Manual or Multimedia with Deluxe Data Carrier
- RDP – Wheel, Table, or eRDP including associate Instructions for Use booklets (Wheel is required if conducting multilevel dive)

Where can I go from here?
PADI Adventure Dives
can also count towards PADI Specialty Diver
certifications. If you liked your Night Adventure Dive so much that you
wanted to take a complete PADI Night Diver Specialty course, your Night
Adventure Dive can count as the first dive of that specialty. PADI
Advanced Open Water Divers at least 15 years of age can enroll in PADI
Wreck or Deep Diver Specialty courses.
Advanced Open Water Divers can also move on to the PADI Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver course.

program. To be considered, your certification must show proof of an
entry-level scuba certification with a minimum of four open water training
dives.
